Ross Radke Art Project Analysis

Navigation

GOAL: Client wanted a website similar to other comic artist websites, but with a very simple navigation menu.

SOLUTION: Streamlined the navigation menu; separating the art and blog tabs with the shopping and contact tabs. The navigation is also responsive for mobile users.

Gallery

GOAL: The Client wanted a very simple gallery showcasing his latest work. He did not want users to scroll down the page and look through unorganized art. He wanted users to focus on the navigation for exploring the website.

SOLUTION: Created a simple gallery on the homepage and made the nav bar stand out by adding more padding at the top.

Comic Pages

GOAL: Client wanted a simple gallery for sharing his comics, but needed users to read them like a pdf.

SOLUTION: Have each comic book page near each other in a gallery format and all have clickable lightboxes for easier navigation when reading the comic.

Title of Comic

GOAL: Client wanted the title to be unique and noticeable at the top of each comic page.

SOLUTION: Added a parallax banner with the bold title of the comic.

Shop

PROBLEM: Client wanted to have a pdf variant option for each physical comic item in the store. Due to technical restraints of the Squarespace platform, this was not possible.

SOLUTION: Created a PDF variant for each comic book as a separate item in the store, but conveniently placed each variant with the (Digital PDF) title directly next to the appropriate physical store item.
